I found these stones on one of my favourite places in the UK: the little West Coast Scottish island of Lismore. With a population of just over a hundred, cut off from the mainland by a short ferry ride from Oban, the community is a time capsule of Celtic culture and a wonderful, heart-warming retreat. For me, these stones rather abstractly capture its short coastline, a sight I intend to see again soon and regularly throughout my life, from the bow of that ferry.
