The Day

May 31st 2025

The Ceremony

The ceremony will take place at one of Zac’s Dad’s churches, St Nicholas in Brockenhurst (Church Lane, SO42 7UB). Please be seated by 11:45am as the ceremony will begin at 12:00(ish). To avoid any delays, we recommend allowing plenty of time for your journey – there is a railway crossing near to the church that is frequently used and can function as a bit of a booby trap if you’re headed anywhere in a rush!

Please feel free to arrive early to explore the beautiful church grounds. St Nic’s is the oldest church in the New Forest, dating back to the 12th century and home to a spectacular yew tree, over 1000 years old – the oldest tree in the Forest! The grounds also include a large and fascinating cemetery, with the grave of local folk hero, Brusher Mills (the “Snake Catcher”), besides those of Indian, New Zealand, and other soldiers who died in nearby field hospitals during and after WWI. It’s a truly special and historic setting.

The Reception

Our reception will be in a nearby field, just a short 5 minute wild walk from the church. The afternoon and evening will be filled with games, food, and dancing.

Please keep in mind that our wedding is set in the heart of the Forest. The ground may be uneven and there could be some mud! While you’re welcome to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, we recommend avoiding stilettos and suggest bringing trainers or comfy flats so you can fully enjoy the games and dancing.

We won’t have a paid bar, so please feel free to help yourself to any drinks available (we’ll be supplying a range of wine, cider, beer, gin etc, some of which may well be home brewed/distilled). However, there’s no designated ‘washer upper’ so we would appreciate it if you could hold on to your glass and reuse it!

Children are very welcome to both the ceremony and reception. If your child has any special requirements (e.g. needs a high chair), please let us know via the RSVP form or drop us a message.

We will be camping in the field on Saturday night and you are more than welcome to join us! If it’s easier, you can set up your tent before the ceremony. For more details, feel free to message us.

If camping is not your thing and you’d prefer a taxi back to your accommodation, we recommend booking one in advance. You’ll find details of local taxi companies on the Local Info page.

We hope you’ll have a wonderful day and enjoy it as much as we will. We are so grateful to have you celebrating with us. If we’ve missed any important details, or if you have any requests to help make your day more enjoyable, please don’t hesitate to contact one of us.
